Shahid Afridi has set new national record after taking 26-4 for Dhaka Dynamites in Bangladesh Premier League(BPL).
Boom Boom Afridi levelled Yasir Arafat record after taking 281 wickets while broke Sohail Tanveer record. Playing an important role in Dhaka Dynamites’ win against Rajshahi Kings, Shahid Afridi got four wickets while conceding only 26 runs off his four overs quota. Afridi has become world’s fourth most successful T20 bowler.
Afridi surpassed Yasir Arafat and Umar Gul, both of them have 10 T20 four-wicket hauls. This was Afridi’s 11th 4-wicket haul of career, the most by any Pakistani cricketer in the shortest format of game.
Shahid Afridi is now one short of joining Sri Lanka’s Lasith Malinga in the list of most 4-wickets haul by any player in T20. The SL player has four or more wickets to his credit 12 times in his career.
The former Pakistan captain is currently at second place in the list of most 4-wicket hauls, jointly with West Indian Sunil Narine.
