Picking up those players who are available for the whole edition. As playoffs and Final of PSL will be held in Pakistan. But top players like Gayle who refused to tour Pakistan earlier remained unpicked.
As there is no benefit of picking up those players who will not be available for the most important matches which are to be played in Pakistan. In 2nd edition also Quetta Gladiators lost the final easily because their players did not come to Pakistan. And Peshawar Zalmi won the final easily.
